Have you Heard the Rumors? Fact Checking the Intelligent Data Hub Company Semarchy

These days we all hear a lot about “fake news” and even Semarchy isn’t immune to the rumors. We don’t know where the fallacies are generated, or how they are passed on, but we’re always tickled to hear about them. We’ve collected some of our favorite gossip and want to shed some light on the truth about all things Semarchy.

Does Semarchy only work with Oracle Database?

Semarchy supports several databases, including Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, Oracle database, PostgreSQL, and Amazon Aurora. Those databases can be hosted on premises or in the cloud.

  • Support of Microsoft SQL Server database: https://www.semarchy.com/news/semarchy-launches-xdm-v5/

Does Semarchy require deep Java expertise?

Semarchy does not require any Java expertise to build data applications and dashboards. Everything is designed via declarative graphical point-and-click user experience. Data rules, including match/merge, data quality and enrichments are designed using the SemQL https://www.semarchy.com/doc/semarchy-xdm/semsq.html expression language that is a semantic extension to the SQL standard. Advanced extensions to the platform, such as designing new plug-in enrichers, can however leverage the Java SDK platform.

Does Semarchy have high-end transactional MDM references?

Semarchy xDM platform is designed, tested, and certified for clustering, load balancing, enterprise security, fault-tolerance, and high-availability configurations, both on-premises and in cloud deployments. Semarchy clients include several very large-scale transactional MDM deployments serving hundreds of millions of records and several thousand users. Performance benchmarks are regularly executed by Semarchy QA teams in collaboration with our Client Advisory Board. For example, our team has recently benchmarked a highly loaded environment for a Government-related portal with a peak test of 1,800 requests per second hitting a B2B database of over 20 million golden parties for 1 hour.

xDM REST APIs have performed as expected with a constant response time of ~48ms. The architecture was using a PostgreSQL database load balanced on 3 mid-sized application servers (2 CPU Cores, 8GB RAM).

Does Semarchy have an insurance company as its majority shareholder?

Semarchy is privately owned by its employees.

Does Semarchy have data integration or real-time integration capabilities?

Semarchy xDM provides a set of complete REST, SQL and JMS APIs that can be leveraged by any third party integration tool to integrate the data hub with other applications or to customize point-to-point integrations using manual coding. Those APIs are extremely efficient for very high volumes and provide micro-seconds response times in highly loaded environments.

Semarchy xDM also provides an optional module, xDM Integrator https://www.semarchy.com/all-downloads/ , that allows seamless integration of the Intelligent Data Hub with any other application whether running in the cloud or on-premises. It supports high volume batch integration as well massive transactional real-time integration.

These two options provide architectural flexibility to our clients to integrate their Intelligent Data Hub with their operational and analytical applications.

Is Semarchy xDM mainly used as a customer data hub solution? Does it support product data?
